We'll be doing what we have been doing for the past few years again. Let's all get together again, and have a great time. Let anyone and everyone you know. Last year we had a huge turnout, and we look forward to having an even better and bigger turnout this year. Merchandise will be available for sale. Bring your camera as well, plenty of photo ops, and plenty of things to photograph around the museum. Hope to see you ALL there!

Old Timer's Day 2011 has been moved to Saturday, September 10th, 2011 @ 10am due to the impeding Hurricane Irene. Everyone needs to be safe, and secure on August 28th. NEWS Update on September 6th, 2010

NEWS Update: Thank You! The Himes Museum of Motor Racing Nostalgia would like to Thank EVERYONE who came to Old Timer's Day 2010 @ the Museum. It was a great success with over 300 people attending. Hopefully if you were there you were able to hear a few stories, tell a few stories, snap some photos, learn a little racing history, or something that made the day special for you. We will be uploading photos soon, we are still compiling a group of photos to upload to the site. We are also going to keep you updated on coming events where you can come see some Racing History, and purchase some racing memorabilia to support the Museum.

NEWS Update on July 23rd, 2010

NEWS Update: Good News! The Himes Museum of Motor Racing Nostalgia & Extreme Design & Graphic Enterprises are happy to announce that the 2010 Himes Museum Remember When... Tee Shirts are NOW available. Check out the "Interactive" page of the website, then go to the "Tee Shirts" section and all the information about shirts can be found there. Also, a 16x20 Heavy Laminate Poster was created with the design from the back of the shirt. These are also NOW available. You can pick up a Tee Shirt, sizes Small through 3-XLarge for $20 each, and you can get this amazing looking 16x20 poster for $50 each. All money will be put into the Museum to keep the memory of Long Island Racing Alive for generations to come. So please check it out, and pick up some new stuff. This is the first time since 2002 that tee shirts are going to be available for purchase... Once they are gone, they'll be gone. So don't miss out!!!

July 25th, 2010

EVENT: On July 25th, 2010, 10am-3pm... The Himes Museum of Motor Racing Nostalgia will be participating in the "Gala Event Fundraiser & Block Party".  All proceeds from this event will be going to the USMC Wounded Warriors Battalion. This great event will be on Buffalo Avenue located in Freeport, Long Island, NY. On the west side of BJ's Wholesale Club. Marty Himes & The Himes Museum will be on hand to talk Freeport Stadium racing history (which was located just across the street), and racing in general. Cars & Memorabilia will be on display for all to see. There will be car crushing for the kids, Junk Yard Tours, Live Band, Food & Beverage, all Day Free Raffles for the kids, Long Island Roadsters, "Jaws of Life" Live Drills, and plenty of Photo Opportunities. Come Enjoy some GREAT family fun!

August 29th, 2010

EVENT: Join us on August 29th, 2010 for the 2010 Old Timer's Day Reunion @ The Himes Museum of Motor Racing Nostalgia located in Bay Shore, Long Island, NY. There will be plenty of stories being told, and history lessons being learned. This is an event not to miss year in and year out. You never know who you'll get to see, meet, and get an autograph from. Marty Himes and the entire gang at the Museum is more then happy to have to join us for this great yearly event. You can always mark it on your calendar, the last Sunday in August each and every year. The start time will be determined at a later date, but keep your calendars marked for August 29th. We will let everyone know what the event start time will be as soon as it is available. We all hope to see you there!

    July 17th & 18th, 2010

EVENT: The Long Island Antique Power Association's 18th Annual Summer Show located at the Hallockville Farm & Museum located at 6038 Sound Avenue, Riverhead, NY 11901. This year Marty Himes & the Himes Museum of Motor Racing Nostalgia will again be on hand with a showing of racecars, and artifacts from the museum. There will be hundreds of photos available to relive some memories of the old time speedways that are no longer around. There are plenty of events going on during the weekend including the famed Tractor Pulls. There will be other show cars on hand, fire trucks, emergency vehicles and much more.
